History

The journey of ToIX began in 2013 when the author, while traveling in the Philippines, envisioned creating a travel blog. Inspired by the suffix “ix,” reminiscent of characters like Asterix and Obelix, the initial idea was to name it Travelix. However, the name was already taken, leading to the creation of TravelToIX, symbolizing "travel to a place called IX." and the sound is similar to "tweak".
In 2014, while living in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the author founded AppToIX, a company dedicated to developing mobile applications and open-source software. This milestone marked the beginning of the ToIX brand’s expansion into innovative tech solutions.
A decade later, in 2024, the launch of DevToIX brought a new dimension to the brand, focusing on the developer community. The website was designed to provide practical resources, tutorials, and insights for software engineers worldwide.
From its origins in travel blogging to its evolution into a hub for developers, the ToIX brand continues to grow, driven by a commitment to creativity, knowledge sharing, and innovation.

About the Author

The author of DevToIX was born and raised in the heart of Lisbon, Portugal. His passion for programming began at an early age. After starting with BASIC on the ZX Spectrum, he quickly progressed to programming in Assembly language, primarily for hacking computer games, until 1987.
In 1987, he completed his first professional project, launching a career that would span diverse fields and programming languages. Between 1987 and 1996, he worked on numerous professional projects, mastering languages like JavaScript, Perl, Awk, and PHP. However, his primary focus during this period was on C, Object Pascal, and Assembly.
From 1996 to 2010, his work centered on 2D and 3D computer graphics, while also contributing to projects in Java and PHP. Over the following decades, his expertise expanded across a wide range of software development projects, with a focus on JavaScript, PHP, and Python as his main programming languages.
Since 2000, the author has worked for international companies and clients, consistently using English as the primary language for professional communication. With decades of experience in software engineering, the author brings a deep understanding of programming, problem-solving, and innovation to DevToIX, making it a valuable resource for developers worldwide.
